Duty Death: Anthony Daniels - [Deptford County, Washington]
DEPTFORD COUNTY, Wash. — The Deptford County Fire Department member killed in an apartment fire Friday has been identified as Firefighter Anthony Daniels, 24. Deptford firefighters responded to the scene of the fire at around 3 a.m., after a 911 call was placed by residents.
Daniels had located a child sheltering in a second-story bedroom when the ceiling collapsed, trapping them both inside. Daniels and the child were killed in the blaze.
An online crowdfunding campaign has been set up for the family of the victim. A public service is being held for Daniels, at which time the end of watch ceremony will be observed. Daniels is survived by his wife.
